In Loving Memory of Scarlet
Scarlet, my $50 farm dog (and worth every penny), was an amazing flyball dog who picked up the game quickly and not only liked to entertain in the ring but out of the ring as well. Aside from stealing food (even from small children) her favorite thing in the world was doing flyball demos. She never broke 4 seconds but with her poorly built body in her prime she consistently ran low 4's. Her best time ever was a 4.01 and for years she ran as our 14" height dog (back in the day of jump heights at 16"). She loved to race and make people smile, and I certainly feel like she made me look like a good trainer. She didn't need me in the ring; I swear that dog was a better passer than I was, and when she ran as our start dog she even knew when I should relase her. I barely did anything but hold the end of the tug and throw down enough treats so she'd drop it. Bad, bad, red dog - she had me very well trained!

Scarlet was not only a great flyball dog but she was and always will be my heart and soul dog. Without her my sleep apnea would have went undiagnosed for years (when I first got her she would wake me up every time I stopped breathing). I will forever miss physically being with her but I know that she is forever with me in my heart. I can't thank my team enough for sticking by me and helping me cope with such sudden and extremely difficult loss. Even in difficult times I always told Scar that we would be "together forever" and that we were. Scarlet went to wait for me at the rainbow bridge on Oct. 19 2009. As always her timing was impeckable - she was scheduled to go to the vet in the morning to have some tests done but she had no intentions of doing any such thing. As it was, I was getting ready to take her in to the emergency clinic at 1:00 am the night she passed, but as with everything it was done her way. It might sound odd but I'm so glad I was able to hold her when she naturally passed away on her own. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and still feel that she is by my side like she always was. My baby Scar I'm so thankful for the world you opened up to me through flyball and all the amazing friends I have who share in the joy of being with such wonderful 4 legged creatures. We will always remain "together forever", I love you little girl. ~ Cindi
