Livy is a rescue, and started training for flyball in spring of 2006, with her first tournament in March of 2007 in Madison, Wisconsin. Livy caught on to flyball rather quickly but needed to gain some confidence, which she now has and owes to flyball.
In 2010 Livy started having issues with lameness, x-rays and exams found nothing. Lameness continued and eventually it was clear, it was her cruciate. Within weeks she tore the other. Surgeries were scheduled and performed at the University of Wisconsin Madison - the first one in December of 2010, the second in March of 2011. It was a long road, but after lots of physical therapy and nearly 8 months in an x-pen, Livy has recently returned to flyball. No one was expecting her to play again, but after seeing the smile on her face no one could say no to her.
At home, she's an intense guard dog, her favorite thing to do is to sit outside on the hill and survey the yard. She is 100% mom's girl, but is finally warming up to some others on the team. Hard to believe this 40 pounder is a Cocker Spaniel / Chihuahua mix (now deemed a cocka-huahua).
